ANKHESENAMUN: "The queen of ancient Egypt, shared the throne with the young pharaoh TUTANKHAMUN".
Yes, indeed we are talking about the wife of king Tut, or should I say the 'royal queen of the Egyptian Empire?
ANKHESENAMUN'S LIFESTORY
Ankhesenamun, also known as Ankhesenpaaten, was born around 1342 BCE, as the third of the 6 daughters of the great pharaoh Akhenaten and his wife, queen Nefertiti. Taking a glance to her early life we come to see that she grew up during the religious revolution.
Her father Akhenaten forced the people to worship the sun god, ATEN. ATEN was the traditional deities of Egypt. Ankhesenamun was very active as she alongside her sisters
Meritaten and Meketaten participated in government and religious functions.
Now as Time passed on and she became the Great Royal Wife of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. king Tut was Ankhesen's own brother, and their marriage was not uncommon among the Egyptian royalty. This is because Royals preferred inter-family marriage as this would keep the royal Egyptian blood pure. She is believed to have been the mother of princess Ankhesenpaten TASHERIT even though the percentage remains unclear.
After her father's death, Ankhesenpaaten changed her name to Ankhesenamun, reflecting her shift to the Egyptian religion that her that was put up Husband king Tut.
Ankhesen led a very luxurious life as the empire was very wealthy, she is said to have tons of gold jewelries along with precious cloths, stones which consisted of sapphire, ruby etc... and she even had expensive perfumes as well.
But after the death of her husband king Tut who dies at very young age probably 18, that's when she was she was again married to AY, the next ascendent of Egyptian Throne.
According to many sources now available we tend to observe that Ankhesen was desperate to prevent AY from becoming the new Pharaoh.
It is also said that she asked help form HITTIES, a kingdom based in Antonia to send her a prince who can marry her and rule the Egypt.
It is noticeable that she disappeared from the history after her husband king Tut's
death.
