TIME TRAVEL: "The end is the beginning, and the beginning is the end."
"The end is the beginning, and the beginning is the end."
Anyone who had watched the Netflix series 'DARK' would have now recollected the sentence which is mentioned in the title of this blog. Even though time traveling has been highlighted as a very complicating notion in the series, we still observe that it has been able to capture the imaginations of both science fiction writers and physicists.
why is this so? what makes time traveling so interesting?
HISTORY
Taking a peep into history, we come to see that the concept of time traveling was not introduced in the late 19's or 20's instead it was during the 400 B.C. During the MAHABHARATA. Mahabharata is a Sanskrit epic poem which consist of a tale of king Kakudmi and his daughter Revati who went to meet lord brahma. While in Brahma's realm they experience time differently, with millions of years passing on earth during their brief visit. This gives us a hint at the idea time dilation.
Later on, a German-born theoretical physicist ALBERT EIENSTIN discovered other theories based on this. For example, 'the theory of relativity'.
But after the publication of the novel 'THE TIME MACHINE' which was written by HG. WELLS (in1895) brought more popularity for the idea time travelling.
A SCIENTIFIC APPROCH
Scientifically time travel can be explained using: EINSTIEN'S Theories of Relativity and Time Dilation. According to Einstein's theories of relativity he describes about space, time, mass and gravity. He suggests that if we move at a speed greater than that of light, we would be able to do time travel. This is the same application of time dilation. But according to this theory we can only travel to the future and not to the past. This phenomenon has real-world implications, as seen in the twin paradox: an astronaut aging more slowly than their Earthbound twin due to space travel.
WRITER'S THOUGHTS
Taking all the scientific evidence and theories we have now in consideration we can conclude that time traveling is possible. Although we can't do time traveling at present because, in order to time travel we must travel at a speed greater than that of light but today we don't have that much advanced technologies which would takes as at a speed more than that of light.
BUT WE CAN HOPE THAT ONE DAY MAN WILL FIND A WAY TO JUMP TIME
SO, LETS ALL WAIT FOR THAT HISTORIC EVENT.
I hope time travel will become possible so that we can travel back and see what actually happened rather than trust today's historians.
